Swine flu vaccine clinics scheduled in Montco

Walk-in swine flu vaccine clinics have been scheduled for Friday in Gilbertsville and Saturday in Plymouth Meeting, the Montgomery County Health Department said yesterday. Both are free but limited to priority groups for vaccine.

Friday's clinic will run from 1 to 4 p.m. at Hope Community Church, 2732 N. Charlotte St. Saturday's will be 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Central Montco Technical High School, 821 Plymouth Rd. Information: 610-278-5117.

Currently scheduled around the region:

The Pennsylvania Department of Health is sponsoring swine flu vaccine clinics Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 18 locations around the state, including Boothwyn in Delaware County; Manheim, Lancaster County; Reading, Berks County; and Allentown, Lehigh County. Appointments are required and may be made online or by calling 1-877-724-3258.

The Philadelphia Department of Public Health has 28 walk-in vaccine clinics around the city. Go online or call 215-685-6458 for details.

Priority groups for all the above are: pregnant women; household contacts and caregivers for infants under 6 months; health-care and emergency-medical-services workers; all people 6 months through 24 years old; people 25 through 64 who have underlying medical conditions that put them at risk of complications from influenza. - Don Sapatkin
